I cannot say enough positive things about Tyler Theal, the campus director of career services. From day one, he went above and beyond in providing personalized support for my career journey. Navigating the job market felt overwhelming, but Tyler offered invaluable guidance every step of the way. Whether it was refining my resume or providing targeted job leads, he was always one step ahead, helping me understand what employers are looking for and how to present myself confidently.

Tyler's dedication to each student's success is truly inspiring. Beyond just resume workshops, he hosted mock interview sessions, offered tips on networking, and even introduced me to alumni in my field. I never felt like just another student; he genuinely cared about helping me succeed and tailored his approach to fit my unique career goals.

Thanks to his support, I was able to secure a job that perfectly aligns with my aspirations. Tyler is an integral part of the university because, after all the hard work we put into earning our degrees, he’s the person who helps get us that job. He truly transforms career services into a hub of growth and opportunity.

Here are some things to know before enrolling in the RN program

1. Be prepared to spend over 50k on an associates degree. Nearly triple times the cost of a community college.

2. For those who have transfer credits coming in, financial aid will force you to sign a document without evaluating your credits first. They claim that they will send another loan form to sign once the credits have been evaluated. What they don't tell you is that after they add your credits, the "5k scholarship" that was in the original paper was taken away due to being "enrolled part time", and you'll end up paying even more than the original amount. NONE of this was mentioned before I signed the paper. Deceptive works.

3. You will be charged $400 every term for a cheap HP laptop regardless of whether you use it or not.

4. Your course schedule will be posted 1-2 days before the class starts. Good luck if you have a personal life.

5. There is a revolving door of professors at this school. You may have different instructors on different days for the same class. Most of the professors have other jobs that they tend to, which results in limited tutoring hours. The "teaching" done at this school is mainly reading from a powerpoint. No handouts or study guides are allowed to be given. Be prepared to self teach yourself all of the material in order to be successful.

6. Judy Ballard, who is the director of nursing and the advisor for nursing students, is spread very thin. She does not respond to emails or calls and pretty much impossible to get a hold of. If you get kicked from the program and want to explore other options such as appealing, you will never hear from her again.

In short, you are paying for an overly priced, for profit private school with below average education that tries to squeeze every last dollar out of you with their scammy tactics.

Graduating in September with my Associates in CIS and have had a great time. Classes are fast paced but felt very rewarding. Definitely not for everyone but I had fun and hope to come back for my Bachelors!

Great teachers and faculty make an awesome school! So far so good! A little organized chaos , which gives us perfect practice for our future medical careers. I really do look forward to class every day! A beautiful disaster!! Study, study, study!!

I Had such a great experience today thanks to the amazing Marie!!!!!
She was so welcoming, sweet, kind and just so much fun to talk to. She knew a lot about all of the programs and answered all of my many questions about each of them. I went in wanting to do radiography and left doing an application for LPN. Thank you Marie for making my experience so great.

There should be a survey available for students to complete on the faculty and not just an end of term survey evaluation for the learning material. The faculty at ECPI needs improvement. It is so unorganized it’s frustrating for students who have to keep resubmitting documents that were missed placed on the schools end. The material being taught to students should be reevaluated considering the instructors are literally reading off PowerPoint slides, telling students to read 5-6 chapters to be tested on the material the following week. How are we really learning the material cramming just to barely pass the exam. Not to mention it’s very hard to understand certain instructors (Ms. Getchun) dialect. The DON for the ADN program (Ms. Ballard) is very rude and love to use her authority to intimidate her students by saying “I can fail you”. Now I don’t know why a DON would ever say that to students especially those who buss their ass to be academically, successful, knowing how tedious and fast pace this accelerated program is. The fishbowl where students go to use the computers or print half the time the printers do not work. The few times when it is operating properly there’s no paper then you have to walk around looking for someone who can restock the paper. And there’s only ONE printer accessible for students considering the amount of money some of us pay monthly or the loans we take out to pay for tuition, this is all ECPI can accommodate. There have also been times when instructors did not have enough supplies to distribute to students in our skills lab, that’s so unacceptable. Not to mention, the turnover rate with instructors that results to cancellations for some classes that is required for students since we have to have a certain amount of time whether it’s sims or clinical time. It is so micromanaged at ECPI that something really needs to change. This school only care about is not losing their accreditation.

The advisors make this ECPI out to be the best school to attend to achieve your goals, but the other side is totally different. What’s being advertised is not what you get. SIMS class we never cut on the mannequin that they said they spent so much money on. We only talked things out in front of the instructors while demonstrating on the mannequin. Only 10 students are allowed in the room during SIMS class and let’s just say you’re lucky if you get all of your required SIMS hours during that term if not, you are short of hours and have to make it up apparently.

I honestly would not recommend this school to people. They only want you to pass their exams vs learning the real concept of nursing.

If your looking for a school that offers real support, if your a mother with kids, if you need to work, if you need real tutoring sometimes and if you don’t have 1000% support for various people in your life, if your out here doing it on your own…choose a different school. This school is a complete do it yourself or fail school. And unfortunately, I fall into those things mentioned above. I’m not disgruntled, five week courses are tough, I knew that going in. I failed a class by one point and even though they offer re-entry they can’t support it, they don’t have the staffing most of the time to give you the clinicals you need, or the clinicals you need for the correlating class. They don’t have the tutoring available that you need when you need it. Tough. I was supposed to re-enter Feb 26 but an email stating there’s no room for me and that it’s never guaranteed not even a phone call. The only saving grace is that we had to chase down people at the school and even then there’s no compassion empathy or support to try and make successful students here. Just look at their success rates. A cohort of 30-45 often ends with only 8 or less. Hopefully I get re-entry in June because all of my money and time went here so it’s a day late and a dollar short to go anywhere else or believe me I would. 7 months out from when I failed the course. Not guaranteed, though so maybe I’m waiting for nothing. Wild to me. Anyway if I could go back in time I’d choose a different school 100% I’m someone who needs advisement and support. It’s just not there at ECPI

Enrolling at ECPI University held promise for flexibility, but my experience took an unexpected turn when I sought to switch from night to day classes. The university imposed unanticipated testing requirements, and now, they refuse re-entry without passing these tests, leaving me in a difficult position. Additionally, attempts to seek help and support in returning to classes have been met with indifference, reflecting a prioritization of financial gains over student well-being.

Adding to the complexity, my pursuit of a nursing career, fueled by my mother's battle with cancer, is now jeopardized by these obstacles. Despite facing adversity, I am determined to overcome these challenges and encourage others to persist in the face of such hurdles. It's disheartening to feel that ECPI University embodies obstacles rather than support on this journey, reminding us that perseverance is essential when faced with unexpected roadblocks.
