I really love this church. I am in between homes right now, and I found this beautiful church. It really has such an intimate setting, and Father Niall does such a wonderful job.
My children have told me in the middle of service that they love this church! This is saying a lot. I’ve always wanted to feel like I’m part of a welcoming community like this and also have my children be engaged. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an experience like this, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is it.

I attended a "Lenten Parish Mission" hosted by Monsignor Eric Barr and it made me feel uncomfortable when he discussed about communion. He made me have a crisis for myself.

This is my church! Love the families that go here! Everyone offers each other a warm welcome regardless if you are new or have been in the church for ages. This is the church my husband and I starting going to after we were married. Our three kids have received their sacraments here. This is where I became Catholic and with open arms to do so. I love the altars in the church and how they fit into the architecture of the building.

Wow! I had no idea what religion the church was when I walked in I just see church's as a place to hear the word...then I realized in was a Catholic church...hmm...all I can say...it was so perfect and everyone welcomed me without question or critical eye...even as I walked bare foot down the isle to a pew...and even though I did not uphold their customs such as standing when all stood or dining all sang....no one said thing...I even had my head phones around my kneck playing the sound of the beaches from Hawaii loud... And still I just was aloud to simply be me and listen to the word.
My heart goes out to all the family I saw last Sunday...thank you for allowing my Disturbences in your sanctuary...God was very impressed with your kindness and acceptance of me and my unorthodox mannerism I displayed...for at the end of the day we where there to pay homage and praise the creator allmaker while being together taken in the word.

To all reguardless your religion...know you should always feel welcome at St John the Baptist Chatholic church in Somonauk, IL.

Beautiful church. Last Sunday I stopped for mass, and it was the most beautiful mass I've been to in 30 years. The reverence. The music. Perfect. (It brought tears to my eyes.......)
