I walked in to IL DHS today at Lincolnwood and was greeted immediately by Ms Desai. I needed to talk to a manager and she was able to assist me. Ms Desai was kind, professional, direct with information and proceeded to help me resolve an issue that wasn't handled by several phone calls. I was so impressed with her ability to help me and juggle other people needing help. Ms Desai is smart and helpful. I'm so appreciative of her knowledge. Much thanks.

Very nice and helpful staff as well as managers. Mrs. Desai was able to untangle the complications in my case and get me a decision very quickly. Very grateful for the kind attention.

An additional detail: If you have been waiting a long time and don't get your turn, they offer to take down your info and call you back the next day, as Mrs. Desai did so we didn't have to go back another day and wait in line.

It’s my pleasure to leave the great words about all of the staff there ! specifically Mrs. Desai I know her since 7 years when I was pregnant i met this wonderful lady she was an angel in my life she helped me with my Medicaid health insurance card after having my beautiful baby girl she helped me with my EBT and Medicaid again and owe her big time today when I needed a help she stood by me she’s beautiful in and out no words to describe your services Mrs.Desai God bless with all the great things in your life please keep serving us we love you ❤️

I was renewing my benefits and scheduled to receive a call from the DHS office. They never called me and on that same day they uploaded documents saying I was denied for benefits then they sold my identity. Once I finally spoke with someone they put my benefits back on but then lowered my stamps amount and then my stamps were stolen from my card on the same date I received them.

A lot of changes here, new remodeled space. Faster system than before. Well organized and no more long waiting in line. I came in and out within 3-5mins. Good job on the big improvement. Customer service is great to focus on and for that, i give 5 stars.

I was waiting for four hours to receive a phone call from the DHS office. I have an appointment, but I waited from 10 AM to 1 PM, and nobody called me. After that, they uploaded the documents stating that I missed the appointment. I had an interview on 09/23/2024, but they uploaded the documents on 09/25/2025.

They don't know that my whole family depends on public benefits.

I was supposed to receive and interview call yesterday and I never got it and on top of that it was supposed to be by 1pm - 2pm never got the call and I don’t see any pending benefits so im assuming they just denied me without even calling me which I will file a lawsuit against this.
