ive been going here since 6th grade and this district is bs. when i first started going here i was struggiling at first coming from d60 and they learn diffrent and stuff. teachers let it fly right by there head. i left in the middle of the year with all d’s and a f. i move back to d60 and go to heaton and ended 6th grade there with a’s and b’s, went to d60 in 7th grade had good grades all year. came back out to lpi for 8th and it was such a bad year. i missed 6 days total and 5 of those days were excused and they were trying to take my mom to court. why did she need to go to court for me missing 5 days? i see kids who miss a whole month with no court papers being talked about to their parents. slobanik has had beef with me since 6th. One day in 8th grade there was a fight off school grounds and i said what the f in the video and was suspened for it and slobanik had to ask my ap who i was again and found out who i was further told him that me and my 2 friends had a choice. one was getting off free. one was getting suspended and one was getting expelled. One of my friends had been suspieded many times and me and my other have not been suspended once or been in the office for anything. Mr pecheck whos great at his job knew that an expulsion is crazy for what we did and we had iss for the day. and ive been going to west since the begining of this year and its complete stressing me out. My bus has 3 stops before school starts and im arriving there at 640 every morning while i could be asleep then. Last semester i had gym first hour and he wouldnt show up until 750-8 when school starts at 730. I would follow the dress code for gym and still be marked points off for what? and the second semester has been worse. i was throwing up in the bathroom about to die and there was 2 teachers in there talking about me throwing up not doing anything not even a “ are you okay”. ive heard stories of kids eating the lunch and getting food poisoning from it. My friend got his shoes stolen and we had proof and it look like school was protecting him. we had all the evidence because this kid didnt have the box for them or a valid recipt. His recipt was a google doc. While we had the box and valid recipts of when they were bought. This districts a joke, they care more about them getting payed than the care for students, have us waiting in the freezing cold while its 5 degrees and the best they got is a 2 hour delay. What a joke man what an actual joke. I could put pete davidson as the superintendent and he would do a better job and look at the man. Be better or just shut down. better yet shut down and give the schools to d60 and they’ll fix the problems no time.

If I could give zero stars and still get to comment I would. District 70 did not care about their students like they try to portray. My autistic grandson had an IEP that specifically states he has to be picked up and dropped off at his front door and the school principal for Rye Elementary and the bus driver continually try to drop him off down the road. When asked about it the parents are told it's an administrative decision due to the driver can't go up my son's driveway. Forget the fact that a low profile Honda Civic had no issues but their Suburban does. Pathetic administrative personnel from the school clear up to administrative people.

I only give this school a 1 out of 5 stars because I attend to this school (won't say my name for privacy purposes). My experience here has been horrible. They have zoom meetings for the online students and they say that either you can attend to the meetings that the teacher has scheduled, or you can email a teacher for a personal meeting. These meetings are for helping with any subjects, having a teacher log you into a unit test, so on so forth. Now here is where things start to go South. I have tried to make a personal appointment because the schedule that the teachers have are either later in the day or it is during the weekend (which I have a busy life, so I couldn't do that option). So I emailed my teacher of said subject and try to get a meeting. They didn't respond until a day or 2 after. So the teachers aren't exactly reliable. So I tried my counselor and she has been very reliable. I feel bad for relying on her so much for unit tests, but I know that she can get it done. Then there is the grading aspect. I don't feel as though putting zeroes after said quarter for every assignment until it is done is a good way to see your grades. Even though many of my classes are A's and B's it says that they are a 43% or something like that. And overall, I feel that this school doesn't have structure to it. It feels as though it was a hodge podge of online/in person school.

I can't believe there was no 2 hour delay today 1-31-23 its -8 outside some parnts have to work and my children are at the bus stop at 6:19 am as of 6:37am still no bus kids are standing in the cold. Hopefully they are bundled up good for just a few minutes outside in this weather can cause frostbite. This is unbelievable. The super attendant should go stand outside in this weather for its now 6:43am for 25 minutes and see how they like it bus should have been here at 6:22am but still no bus. I'm calling into work late so I can go get my children from the bus stop before they freeze to death.
This is unexceptable. I'm at the bus stop now its 6:50am and still no bus... 30+ minutes in the cold 🥶

The district seem to have no accountability for the remote teachers. I chose to keep my children remote because of the pandemic and students not wearing masks properly at school. I have a middle schooler who has her normal teachers that she would have if she attended in person and we have no issues. My elementary school child on the other hand, nothing but issues with remote “teachers”. I received a call from her school one day that she would be returning to in person when I did not agree to that. I later found out that it was because she had failing grades in all of her classes. Never once did her teacher reach out to me to tell me that. When my child was with her actual teacher doing remote learning, the assignments were done differently so I had no way to know. When I brought up the issue to the head of remote learning I was told that it was my fault and that I should be checking grades. No acknowledgement that the remote teacher should contact parents if the student is failing. I was also told that because I had an issue with another remote teacher that it just seems that I am dissatisfied. This makes it seem like as a parent I am wrong for reaching out when there are issues. Reaching the district is another hassle entirely. I can never get an answer no matter what option I select in the directory and getting a call returned is rare.

Do not let your kids go to Cedar Ridge Elementary as student that went there they do not care about your kids. My father was mentally and physicaly abusive same with my step mother. They would take us out of school earlier on there days and my 4 year old brother at the time would cry and scream and the staff wouldn't even bat an eye but help him get my brother in the car or when a straight A student goes down to a straight F student. No one ever even tried to see what was happening at the time they had labeled us as bad students. As a young adult they could have prevented the years of abuse for me and my little brother. Even now I'm still trying to recover from the trauma still to this day. This is unexceptional

If I knew today what I knew back then. My children would have never attended Rye ANYTHING for schools! My children are now all adults and went through all the Rye and CC schools. I am paying the consequences still today because of Rye schools. They taught my kids to avoid, deflect, ignore, avoidance, and how not to be an adult. My children even though the hubby and I are very strong willed and tried to teach them, Rye schools had such an influence it OVER TOOK our teachings similar to a cult. They tech them the way to not address any issues that come towards them which I myself can't comprehend. I'd SAY 1 TEACHER THERE IS FANFREAKING AMAZING MS. KAREN the rest well let's just say RUN!!!!!! Don't send your kids here or later in life on any conflicts you or ANYONE IN GENERAL that have with your kids will never resolve or be fixed. Thanks Rye schools...how many more will there be? ? Let's say CULT!

The children at Rye Elementary school now have to stand out in a field when dropped off by parents and stand in a line before they are allowed into school. No dropping off at the door. Lets all go stand in the rain, snow and any other inclement weather we can think of for safety reasons. Guess that would give a shooter better coverage where the kids have no place to hide . Well thought out. If you're stupid enough to think it would not happen at a rural school you're idiots.
