Our daughter was identified as needing extra reading help at school in the fall of first grade. We found Ms. Jen and started going twice a week for an hour in January. We subsequently had her tested for dyslexia and found that she does have it, and also found several areas of strengths, so the testing was worthwhile to us. In the summer, transitioned to 8 sessions total, and in the fall of the same year went to 1hr/week. She's now reading at grade level, per the school assessments. There are still areas that she needs to work on, so she's going to continue into the spring 1hr/week. She is no longer as reluctant to read to us, even seems to enjoy it, and I have found her reading books on her own.
As parents, the tutoring lifted a weight off our shoulders--we didn't feel the need to battle with her about reading or worry if she's getting enough support and practice or what we should do to help. It has been well worth the investment for us and our daughter has a fun time with Ms. Jen each week!

My child has been going to Dyslexia Solutions of Colorado for around a year and a half now. Jen has provided 1:1 multi sensory tutoring for my child who struggles with phonics, reading, spelling and writing. Jen has increased my kiddo's phonics knowledge which has lead to better reading. She has taught her cursive, which has lead to better spelling. When we needed help with writing multiple paragraphs, Jen sent my kiddo's teacher videos on best methods to help get words on paper and to think through the writing.
