Schools are supposed to support students. Dress codes are for administrations to abide by but they also are there for them to tinker with when situations arise and they need to analyze a situation. This administration must be the most cold hearted folks around. Who in their right mind would want their children attending a school after what these administrators have done? They have no couth, no sense of good in them for the kids. They are just sitting and waiting for someone to break the rules for they can throw their weight around. This is a disgusting decision by a school. Hands down if I had a child at that school, they would never go back there for 2 reasons. I don't believe after this decision they support sick children and they do not support individuality of children which isn't surprising because most schools that wear uniforms typically think individuality is a "distraction" from learning. I believe this cold hearted decision is a far bigger distraction then this little girls hair would have ever been. This was done in poor poor taste....shame on these people.

I had very high hopes for this school. I put both my kids in after going to an open house and they had so many wonderful discipline and morals in their pitch. And while both my kids came from a public school the last five years I really wanted a good influence school where they were not exposed to all the craziness that goes on in public schools. But while that part was delivered my kids because they are having a hard time with the workload and understanding this better education have been I feel tossed to the side. Because they are to much work for the educators. I've tried to have teachers backs only to be snubbed at pickups and not replied to, or informed of issues. I'm currently pulling them out, and because of my bad experience this year I will not be sending my younger kids to them as planned. Disappointed in your so called morals.....

To even have to go back and hold a meeting... who was the heartless, unthinking idiot that sent this girl home? There should never have been the need for a "meeting". Dress codes are written for a reason, and this was not it. Did you expel the girl with cancer for shaving her head due to the chemotherapy hair loss? If you followed your dress code, she would have been expelled first. That would have also been a "violation" of your dress code, but you clearly thought that one through before taking action. Really, look at where your issues really are. What do you really stand for? This got your school some national attention, but not because you are a great educational organization. According to your mission: Our mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs, while providing a safe environment. You forgot your own mission of achieving character, which you still need to develop as an institution. I hope millions of people learn from your MISTAKE... BEFORE they make a similar one. May you go forward with new insight, and that your employees, principal, and board take cultural sensitivity training. By the way, I am a cancer survivor.

My experience has been through the news and the student who shaved her head, having compassion for her friend. You people need to get out of the mainstream and learn the true meaning of caring. You might even learn a lot about educating the youth once you pull your head out of your posterior. I wouldn't allow my child or grandchild to be in your school. You are no different, no better, and no more tolerant than the local public schools. Too bad.

Having a Doctorate in Social Work and working with children I know the meaning of support for an individual student suffering from what can be a embarrassing illness. Her friend who shaved her head should not have been punished but held up as a shining example of how children should help other children as they struggle through just this type of issue. For a young woman to lose her hair as a result of the treatment of cancer can be at the very least traumatic. To have a friend shave her head in support of her friend is not only compassionate but brave as well. Your actions demonstrate the ignorance of adults when dealing with children who are only trying to show solidarity with a friend who is suffering. Shame on you. You need to open your eyes then your mind. Some how you have forgotten the concept of caring. You are nothing more than over aged bullies.

This school is okay. I have been a student for a year and a half and most staff are really rude. They talk behind your back and the special education teacher decided Autistic kids should be limited on bathroom use and always watched not allowed to go anywhere without a teacher. I get bullied and the teachers sit there and mock me with the rest of the class. There are some homophobic and transphobic staff. There is a lot of downside about this school and I didn't even list half of it but it is a good place to go and learn at. A lot of teachers are nice and help kids one on one and will let you stay to after class to clarify some things. In the end, you have a higher chance of going to college once you graduate from this school.

I have been here for one year. I moved here and started school at the beginning of the year and I am not impressed. This school treats it’s students to much like children. This school also dose not provide many outlets for their students to explore. The schools gives to much homework in my opinion, a lot of the time I feel overworked or stressed. Also this I sent that important but if you not Conservative or believe in god, it’s better not to mention it.

I am so disgusted! As a 33 year old female cancer survivor I know first hand that there is nothing worse than the day you loose your hair. As I looked in the mirror each day I believed I looked alien, no eyebrows, eyelashes and a bald head. I was an adult and just wanted to hide in my home, embarrassed to go out in public. I hated the stares, questions and comments of little children.

The 9 year old girl from this school that shaved her head so that her friend wouldn't be alone should be commended NOT suspended! She clearly has a grasp on empathy, bravery, confidence and sense of self that her parents have instilled in her. It is apparent that she has not learned these values from this school.

I have 3 children in this age range and you better believe that if they went to this school I would pull them out!
