My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD at the start of second grade. She has worked with Jordan at the The Joy of Learning for the last year and has grown in her reading skills beyond anything I thought possible going in to tutoring. The activities used for learning are engaging and appropriate for how her dyslexic brain works. My daughter actually picks up CHAPTER books now and reads them silently to herself! I'm so very happy with how her journey has turned out and thankful to Jordan for all of the support in the process.

We worked with Jordan from the time my child was 7 years old until they were 8 on reading and writing skills. My kid went from being a reluctant reader who struggled with decoding, to being excited to read any and everything. They went from avoiding simple books to engaging with longer chapter books and complex stories with more focus.
Despite the sessions being over zoom, Jordan captivated my distractible child and was able to redirect them and keep them engaged throughout. My kid expressed how much fun it was to learn with Jordan, especially the games they played. My kid was also excited to share all the "rules" and tricks they were learning with parents, grandparents and teachers. It made a huge difference in how school went and their confidence in tackling things like homework more independently.
We're really grateful for the work Jordan did with our kid and how much progress they achieved with her help. Highly, highly recommend working with Jordan.

We are so grateful for Jordan. She worked with my daughter for nearly 4 years. We shifted to online during the pandemic, and we were so glad to have had her with us through a very tumultuous time. My daughter has severe learning disabilities, and Jordan was able to get her to finally read. We initially did the Lindamood Bell program, but I found Jordan much more effective at honing in on specific problem areas. She is a truly skilled professional, and my child adores her. We highly recommend Jordan!

I can't say enough about how much of a positive impact Jordan had on my son's experience as a reader. As a student with dyslexia that was struggling, Jordan met him on zoom where he was at (a below grade level 2nd grader). Through positive and diligent work with my son, he emerged in fourth grade reading above grade level and even more, he told me recently "I love reading." I couldn't recommend Jordan more highly.
