We have gone to the Johnstown YMCA since it opened. Undoubtedly the current manager of the pool is the best. I spent 40+ years in the military and law enforcement dealing with safety and security protocols. The current manager has a real grasp of the issues of water and pool safety. Watching the life guards change guard stations is amazing. While climbing down from the guard seat the guard taking over watches the pool and the reverse happens when the new guard takes position. They also walk the entire pool before and after each change.
It's refreshing to see such professional safety folks it action. Thanks goes to the management of the Johnstown YMCA

We love YMCA!♡ I took my family there this afternoon it's been since last year that we have gone and we signed them up for five month's of membership. She remembered me from last year! She had our cards ready and kid's name's written down when we arrived!

Staff is very friendly and respectful. They really care about your kid's safety. For instance when our kid's would lose their beach ball they we're playing and it would land in the adult swim section, they immediately would grab it to make sure they wouldn't drown trying to get it themselves.

We haven't had a bad experience, for the two year's we've been bringing our family here. They pass by you and smile, and say hi. And are very helpful when asking for anything and never seem annoyed. The front desk ladies and lifeguards deserve some credit for how well they are treating others. Appreciate you guy's!

IF YOU ARE BRINGING KIDS HERE TO SWIM...
Don't.
It costs twice as much as the Loveland, Berthoud and Greeley rec centers. And has half the amenities.
The slide, toddler area and splashy stuff are only open during family swim, which is a small part of each day.
Kids are not allowed in the hot tub.
If we had known all of these things, we wouldn't have come here. Hopefully this review will save someone else the same trouble.
Even better would be if they lowered the price, and had the fun stuff available during all open swims!

This place is a joke. Nobody in Mgt. knows what's going on. The website is terrible. I've shown up too many times where Part of the facilities are shut down with no information ahead of time to the public. This place makes the DMV look like a well ran Organization. The community should be embarrassed. The people at the front desk don't have any idea what's going on So calling ahead of time does no good. Simply a joke!

The gym has been making some good improvements. Very clean and taken care of. Could be better about the kids that flood the gym and have no gym etiquette.

The LGBTQI inclusion is awesome. The YMCA is always a safe space and always has been. The comments about it are ignorant and disgusting. Thank you for making a safe space for everyone.

Great facility. There are several different machines and free weights along with classes and swimming. My only gripe is it's busy and sometimes hard to get to the equipment you want.

We used the pool today for the first time and it is amazing!! I love the locker rooms, the pool itself, the swimsuit dryer, basically everything. We'll be back for sure.

If you plan on getting a family pass to go swimming, then just skip this place. Family swim is only 11 to 1 on the weekend. Yes during lunch. Their app is usually not updated.

Canceled my membership in person because I was moving but they decided to continue to charge me after I was assured by the person at the front desk that I would have my membership canceled and I did not have to take any further action.

Quality had been steadily going downhill and the monthly rates had gone up several times.

Edit: Refund was issued so adding a star, my other complaints still stand
