Moved here from a top school district in Texas and RMAE has been an excellent fit for my children. RMAE staff are amazing and I'm very impressed with both the social and academic aspect of the school. Both kids are the happiest they have been and have experienced schools in Europe and Texas. I can't speak highly enough about this school. The children feel respected and supported and the transition has been seamless. I feel both children with different skill sets and strengths are reaching their potential at this school. Great leadership, great school community, great teachers and happy kids makes me a very happy parent. I have no regrets enrolling my children in this school.

I absolutely love RMAE. I have had a kid in elementary as well as the middle school and have loved every experience. The small class size, along with the level of care from every single teacher is more than I ever thought I would find in a public school! The electives are really unique and the kids enjoy them! I also really appreciate the sense of community with the parents, staff and students. I’m so glad we found this amazing school!

My daughter is finishing up her first year at RMAE and it has been a great fit for her and for our family. We have been impressed that the teachers have been mindful of the level of challenge she needed to stay engaged and that she is able to attend a higher level math class because the school schedule was designed with this in mind. She loves all of her teachers and is excited most days to go to school.

As a parent, I like the charter school model because it has allowed us to be more engaged than we would be able to at a traditional county school, both with volunteering in class and engaging with the board. The level of homework she has had in first grade has been appropriate - enough so that we know what she is learning but not overwhelming by any means. I also like that the school is small so we know most of the staff. They are finishing up a new gym space and I am looking forward to all the ways it will be put to use.

I've asked parents of older kids for their feedback and have heard good things about the curriculums used by the school. One example was how the middle schoolers study WW1 in great depth, not just the main points but also learning about the after effects on the various countries in Europe. They also have a grilling elective going into the science of food which seemed pretty popular and, to me, is representative of a school with teachers that go above and beyond to engage students. Most importantly, the focus on writing skills, even in first grade, seems to be top-notch. My first grader has already learned to write well structured informative paragraphs and it sounds like these skills build though the years with kids graduating 8th grade with writing skills that impress in high school.

I am grateful to have this tuition-free charter school in Evergreen! The school has a strong academic program and offers electives to lower grades that are not available at some of the other public schools including Spanish and also has a strong music program with choir and orchestra offered to the lower grades as well. The small class sizes and additional aides and parent volunteers offer my daughter more individual attention. I am grateful that I can have my kids at ONE school from preschool through the 8th grade. RMAE is a Random Acts of Kindness school and it shows. The students are thoughtful and courteous and are learning social skills that will carry them far throughout their lives.

Our experience at Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen has been phenomenal! Our children attended Wilmot and Evergreen Middle School prior to RMAE. While my GT kid (who is now at Evergreen High School) did ok at Wilmot and EMS, my other kids were not as engaged or challenged at Wilmot and especially not at EMS. In fact, my kids had not been appropriately growing academically nor in standardized testing at these other schools. They rarely had homework for us to complete together in the evenings, little to no required reading, and no help from teachers to move them into more challenging classes/content when they proved they could easily get A’s at the current level.
Our kids have goals to be academically successful and compete for admission into the best colleges. To achieve this goal, they need to be prepping at a young age towards the vigorous honors level offerings at EHS with a constant emphasis on the importance of good grades as well as the excellent habits required. Frankly, I also believe that my GT kid would have been more stimulated in the science and tech departments at RMAE over EMS.
The teachers at RMAE work hard to keep the academic pace brisk and identify when your child needs additional challenges and work to achieve their best potential. The middle school is especially exceptional, and my kids feel safe there to work hard and focus on their school work. They love going to school in the morning and I am now picking up smiling kids at the end of day which is so wonderful! There is no tolerated bully environment and my kids have all made great friends in a very short time and everyone supports each other.
The administration and Dr. Hudson have been 100% accessible and willing to sit down and have a conversation with a follow-up plan for helping our kids become their best selves. The quality of work that I now see my kids completing is evidence that they are being inspired at RMAE to work to their full potential. I happily sit with them every evening doing homework or projects because seeing them challenged and believing in themselves is the best gift a mother could receive!
There is a different, better alternative for your kids in Evergreen and that school is RMAE!

RMAE has been a wonderful experience for my son. Although he struggles in certain areas, they have gone far above and beyond expectations to help him. The family atmosphere at the school is unique, and the staff and administrators truly care about each child. If you are considering RMAE, I would heartily recommend that you take a tour of the school and see for yourself the culture they have created.
