The leadership team here is committed to your success. This could be the best thing you ever do for yourself and your family. The school will support you academically and in job placement. There are thousands of success stories. If you are serious about getting an education and a career (not a job, a career), this can be your ticket to a new future for you and your family. If you just want to "go to college" but are not serious about studying, don't enroll. It will be a waste of everyone's time and your money. However, if you are serious and ready to sacrifice short term for long term goals, this may be the place for you. YOU are in charge of your destiny. Fortis can show you the way but it's up to you.

One of the most unprofessional places ever. If you're not in a click w certain instructors, you're going to have it rough.
When I started, all was good. Then it became a mess about 5 months in. Teachers not showing up to class, minimal actual hands on work. Teachers complaining about their pay and also accusing students of cheating. Career placement dept is a joke. They do not respond to emails when concerns are expressed, but quick to threaten you with removal if you miss a payment, and they will expose that info to other students, so your business is everyone's business. Promised a CPR class that never happened.
And don't get admitted to the hospital and almost die, because they won't bother to see how you're doing, but sure demand money. They dropped me from the program and had no concern that I had been hospitalized. Supposedly I missed two straight weeks, and when i calculated my days I should not have been dropped from the program. I even forwarded my issues to the "President" and still have not received a response. The curriculum is worse. Test questions are off, and sometimes the wrong answer is actually the right answer, and most of the time, the instructors do not even understand the material they are teaching. Even their Program Director mentioned that there were better schools for HVAC because Fortis "has a reputation".
I am dissappointed in myself for selecting this school. Complete waste of money and time.

Best EMT program out there! Amber is extremely knowledgeable & provides you with everything necessary to pass the NREMT. She even provides opportunities for jobs before/after graduation. I am hoping/praying they offer Advanced & even Paramedic, so I can continue to learn from Amber. You will not be disappointed choosing this school for this program.

Horrible school to teach at and feel even worse for the students. You pay more to go here and receive a diploma than you do to go to a community college and receive a degree. Save your time and money and go elsewhere! They treat their employees like crap and administration is so unorganized.

I enjoyed my experience both of my instructors were two of the best teachers i have ever had. And i would love to go back hopefully to get my AEMT if a class opens up for it.

Oh how i wish i could rewind the hands of time!!!! This is the most unorganized, unprofessional place I've every been in my life!!! They expect you to have NO LIFE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL!!! THEY EXPECT YOU TO NEVER MISS DAY!!! THEY EXPECT YOU TO TEACH YOURSELF!!! DURING ORIENTATION THEY MADE IT SEEM SOOOOO NICE & THAT THEY TRULY CARED! I PROMISE YOU WHEN YOU ENTER THAT BUILDING THE ENERGY IS OFF!!!!! MY VERY FIRST 2 WEEKS I HAD A TOTAL OF 4 TEACHERS FOR 2 CLASSES BECAUSE NOBODY WANTED TO WORK IN THAT NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT! SO DURING THAT TIME OF TEACHERS COMING IN AND OUT WE HAD TO TEACH OURSELVES!!! KEEP IN MIND THIS IS MY FIRST WEEK HERE!!! THE INSTRUCTORS THAT DO STAY GIVE OUT ZEROS IF THEY DON'T LIKE YOU!! YES THATS RIGHT!! IM ABOUT A WEEK AWAY FROM EITHER TRANSFERING OR COMPLETELY DROPPING OUT! I WAS EXCITED TO START MY NEW CARRER BUT WITH THIS PLACE I'LL KNOW NOTHING WHEN IT'S TIME TO ACTUALLY GO OUT IN THE FIELD!!!! This is the worst community college you can EVER attend . First thing first we paid alllll that money and we never had a pinning ceremony, they have very poor communication skills . They are threatening- they will often threaten to kick you out for missing more than 2 days , being over 20 minutes late . And etc . They have absolutely nothing to offer honestly I would sincerely suggest another community college in mobile . I just finished in December,2023 and when I tell you I’ve never regret going to a school so bad I mean just that .
