Did not work for us. Teachers are barely involved and one live lesson per subject per week is nowhere near enough. The amount of work is easily 2-3 times more than what you would do in a traditional setting it was impossible to keep up unless you dedicate 8-10 hours per day. It’s also beyond impossible to get in touch with someone for withdrawal. I sat on hold for almost an hour and gave up and emailed every teacher, counselor and enrollment email address I could find to notify them she would no longer be attending. Refuse to spend hours on the phone just to withdraw her when she’s already enrolled and attending a public school now.

This school is a joke I had 3 kids that were going to this school. They told me that cause they were 2 weeks late and got in rolled late. That they wouldn't hold it against them and that was. B.S. Then it took a week for them to get 1 labtop to share in between 3 kid's. All there classes were all at the same time how ridiculous is that? So when they finally got the labtop they had like 50 lessons each and they expected them to have all of the work done in 2 weeks. I wouldn't ever recommend ANYONE even try to go to this school it's ridiculous.

Update: would not recommend this school. Kids are set up for failure if they pass English and not math and are promoted to next grade level where if they don't pass math, they don't graduate. Very disappointing after my initial 5 star rwview.
Original review: Our initial registration took some time but after that, we haven't had any issues. Communication with teachers is done by web mail or phone. Once a week, we do a one on one with my daughters homeroom teacher. There are numerous weekly live lessons kids can interact with, along with school books the kids can use. Kids can work at their own pace and if needed reschedule lessons. Teachers call each student every couple of weeks to talk about lessons and touch base with parents as well. I will not consider putting our daughter back in the public school system where she was 2 years behind. We love connections! Highly recommended! We've been with connections for 2 years now.

The school experience was a little rough at first. The curriculum has a bit of a learning curve, but our teacher this year has been truly amazing! I want to recognize Bobbie Ivanich (3rd grade teacher) for her support and help. She supported me and my child all year long with any questions or problems we had with the curriculum. She responded right away with any questions I had, and if she didn't have the answer she found out for me which was very helpful compared to the previous school my student attended. She was also extremely helpful with any problems my student had with tests/quizzes. I feel like she was easy to talk to, and she made the whole experience less stressful overall. I would love to have her as my student's teacher again! As for Connections overall, I think the curriculum is a little bit too hard at times. As a suggestion, maybe Connections could work on making it easier for parents because it can get time consuming even if you are a stay at home parent.

I had to make a quick transition to online school after i had my son at the end of my freshman year. Colorado connections academy welcomed me with open arms and no judgement. It was pretty easy to adapt to. their school set up is flexible, easy to use, and the teachers are always willing to help and answer their phones. if you have a bad grade, there is always a way to correct it. I’m thankful for my opportunity to be able to school online, and with such a great school. The only part that may be a bit frustrating is the learning coach tasks, where your parent has to log and do your attendanve and check off assignments, but it is understandable because it’s online.

My daughter has had multiple days where she works on school until bedtime. ALL DAY. She is a very good student & has always gotten good grades. We lost our house in a fire & had to move in with relatives. The local public school here is really bad, so I did Connections Academy as a alternative, figured it would just be while we got back on our feet.
We are all miserable. It takes up HOURS every day of our lives. All 3 of us (my spouse, me, our daughter) will work on things & it will still take HOURS to do.
But the real kicker came yesterday. I have been unable to find time to schedule a conference call with her homeroom teacher.
These calls, she has had 2 already this year, in like 3 months... have never been important in any way. The teacher has chatted about what my child had for dinner... forgive me for not thinking this call was vital...
Now, for 2 days I have been unable to access the website. Her teacher told my daughter, through email, that it was because I didn't schedule the call....
If I cant log in, I cant record my child's attendance, which means she falls behind on required public school attendance, AND I cant submit her school work, which is part of my job as her "learning coach".
So we did schedule a call, for this morning, and her teacher never called! So I STILL cant submit her hours or work. At this point my child's education & future is on hold because of a phone call.
I have emailed them 3 times & left a voicemail & never heard back.
DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL!

My family has been with Connections Academy since 2016. The program is top notch and teachers hands down beat any teach my son ever had in person. The Curriculum is more advanced than we found in his in person class and the fact that he can do his lessons at his pace. The teachers and tutor's are always there to help if needed. I son has learned more here and without complications from the extra drama.
Put you kids in this school you won't regret it!

This school was less than desirable. There is very little contact with the teachers and grading that depended on them would sometimes take weeks. Response times were often days later. There are too many students in a "classroom" for any of the children to get individual attention and, as stated, it's difficult to get a timely response to questions. They are quick to let you know if your child has not participated in a live lesson in a certain period of time though, by letting you know in big red warnings that your child has been out of communication, even though the teachers themselves have not responded to communications. All and all the school was a headache and the only curriculum that was challenging was the Math and that was most challenging because of the poor communication. My son was in 9th grade. I'm certain the school's biggest concern is checking off boxes in order to stay compliant for funding. I can't even imagine trying to navigate this for a younger child who is not so independent.
