The Mount Blue Sky Welcome Station is the gate to access the 14 mile road to the summit. This is where you check-in for your timed reservation which is made on line.

I’ve never had more than 3 or 4 vehicles in front of me during check in. Have your ticket ready either printed out or on your phone and you will whisk right through. In spite of the same advice when you make your reservation it never fails to amaze me how many people seem to fumble around looking for their ticket and hold up the line.

I think there has been unnecessary fear generated about the condition of this road. I admit, it is not for the feint of heart driver or people that have a fear of heights. There are no guard rails and you will frequently drive along some precipitous sections with shear drops set against the background of gorgeous mountain vistas. Take your time! Don’t let that guy behind you rush you - they are taking a day off too and should enjoy the view!

There are plenty of places to pull over and let people pass or take in the scenery. The three main areas are Mt. Goliath, Summit Lake and the Summit. All have good parking and restrooms.

As of July 2024 there is a plan to close access to the road for all of 2025 for repair. If you have a chance to visit before the September seasonal closure you will not regret it.

The outdoor stuff speaks for itself. But the staff is rude. I try to ask questions, and they just have this attitude. And the line takes forever to get in for your reservation. But if you get there even 5 min early. They make you go to the back. But if you go the 2nd or 3rd day, you can go anytime. Reservations are weird.
Gift shop and restaurant closed which it a major bummer.
Through it all, worth the hassle. See pics.

It's always so beautiful up here (except maybe when there are too many people). But that has not been the case at the times we've gone recently, and we've gotten some incredible views. Too bad the lodge is closed and nothing has been reopened there yet. Hopefully Denver will still have the awesome pies up there... missing that this year with it being closed. But yes. Amazing views.

We loved driving up to the summit of Mt. Evans. We saw a lot of wild goats and prairie dogs. The last 200-300 feet to hike up to the summit were fun. There were still snow banks so my daughter and I climbed the rocks like mountain goats to get to the top!

Beautiful place, amazing people at the welcome station. Very helpful. Just if you drive to the summit make sure you're prepare for the high altitude, scary curbs, amazing scenery and founa!... A don't forget the scary side of the mountain, drive slow and precaution. It's worth it!

Loved visiting with my family. The altitude got to me a little. Just be aware if you're new to this height. Drink lots of water and take deep breaths. Don't exert yourself until you get used to the altitude.

Gorgeous view, not too busy on Sunday visit. Road in good condition, some bumpy areas but very limited. Good parking areas, well maintained.

Amazing place to spend the day hiking and exploring the small lakes and trails! Lots of wildlife to see: elk, deer, mountain goats, moose, marmots, and more.
