I am a student here and I’m currently on my second year, second semester. Conner is my teacher and he has patience and he’s passionate about teaching, I can tell he enjoys doing what he loves and I enjoy coming here and learning about sheet metal. The teachers and staff are very welcoming and I’ve made good friends here as well. I recommend anyone that would like to learn a trade here to come check it out. I just finished a project here at school and it was to build a fitting tree…. This was very challenging but rewarding as well. Thank you CITC for training me and giving me the opportunity and I look forward to finishing the next two years strong.

I send students to CITC and IEC (who have won awards at both schools.)
I have sat through classes at both.
CITC is more money but I think its better and you are just sticking your employer with the bill so who cares.

The school is making some huge improvements in the curriculum and labs. The modernization of content in the next year or so will really help.
The first year is slow, real slow but the last year really helps you for the test.

The new lighting control lab is almost done. I haven't seen anybody else even try to do one. The new metering lab(nobody has one now) is next, then a replacement transformer lab. The student evaluation's are terrible but should be revised later this year.

If you treat the people well there, they will be awesome to you. If you are surly with them... they likely will not be awesome to you, which may describe some other comments here.

Some people don't want to learn or read. If you don't, then don't go. If you want to be worth more money, show up and WANT to learn. If the drive isn't something you can do, don't go.

Basically the best 2 years are the last 2. If you can test out of a year or two because of a transfer, do so. If somebody only wants to send you to school for just the first 2 years, they are shafting you, find a better employer.

Don't show up late or you will be parking in the ghetto, way into it.

CITC is a great apprentice school for multiple trades. I have been involved with CITC for over 20 years and they have always been receptive to input from the students and contractors and adjusts curriculum and labs accordingly, for making the construction industry better.

Have been involved with CITC for over 15 years. School is based on great participation and development from participating contractors. Contractors have come together to put curriculum together & identify industry professionals to teach the next generation of construction leaders.

I'm writing this review as a cautionary tale of this school, as an electrical apprentice. Here we go. The time I spent at this school was a complete and total wast of my time. The instruction i recieved boiled down to "just Google it" or "just figure it out". The curriculum is absolutely terrible and disjointed thanks to the electrical departments head, George guiadello, who cant even figure out where hes at most nights. You receive a syllabus at the beginning of the semester for it to only be changed twice then not followed by your teacher, who is only there for a few extra bucks and could care less about the education of the students. My instructor knew so little about the material he was teaching he had the students who understood the material teach the class and ended up loosing turned in homework, threatening a zero even though the work has already been turned in. Unacceptable. There is absolutely no understanding of the students life outside of the school, no excused absences, nothing. Your mom dies, you have a child, your sick with cancer, well that's just too bad, show up to school or your hard earned grade drops due to your absence. This school is pathetic, the absoutle lowest common denominator. Do yourself a favor, if your contractor requires you to attend this "school" go to another contractor that affords you a better education. Also, it should be mentioned, that the credits earned here don't transfer to other schools, such as IEC or red rocks community college. Accredited? I don't think so. I left my company so that I could start with another and enroll in IEC. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else and get an actual education because that is a foreign concept at this establishment. Walk away and never look back. Also I feel it's worth mentioning that everyone that I was in school with or have been through this school absolutely hates it. Take with that what you will.
