If you’re seeking a tutor to support your child with the grammar school entrance exam, I’d 100 percent recommend Jack at Tutor First.

Jack provided a complimentary session to assess if our son had the academic ability for the school and exam, midway through year three. We decided to commence sending our son to Jack for one hour a week from the start of year four.

Initially, Jack supported our son with foundation work, with a particular focus on handwriting. Most importantly he built a great rapport with our son. Jack’s approach was very tailored and he was also very good at advising how we could support our son at home too.

Over the past two years, there’s never been lots of homework or pressure, just constant support and encouragement. Even in the weeks nearing the exam, it was very relaxed.

What impressed me the most, besides Jack’s ability to understand his students, was his commitment to mental health support and creating an inclusive, supportive and fun community.

With Jack’s support our son met the standard required for the grammar school.

I'm really happy with Tutor First. I've had my eldest son attend before his GCSE and now my young son is attending. He really enjoys going and thinks Jack is great. He says your learning but it likes being with your mate with Jack. Would recommend to anyone looking for a tutor.
