I have been attending ILA for ten years. It is the best school I have attended or heard about. The classes are INCREDIBLE and the teachers are all passionate about teaching and helping you to the best of their ability. It is run by parents and they are so kind and excited to help. Not only that but my fellow students are so kind and encouraging. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Our director is the most hard working and passionate leader I have ever seen. She puts incredible amounts of work, time and prayer into making ILA the best place for students and families. She is very humble with all she does and she is an amazing example for all students to look up to.

I graduated from Independent Learning Academy a few years ago and have nothing but praise for the school. I am a nursing major and felt incredibly prepared for all of my college classes. It was an easy transition into a very difficult major. ILA is a very special place, and I have personally seen and experienced how wonderful the staff and teachers are. It is clear that so much thought, care, and prayer goes into every decision that is made. The students are prioritized and the community is amazing.

ILA was an amazing experience for my kids. We went through the kindergarten and first grade program. The teachers were so sweet and helpful! I love how they helped me as a first time homeschool mom. The curriculum was easy to follow. I loved the service hours because they gave me a chance to connect with other homeschool moms and make some real lasting relationships (the crew!). I have since moved to TN where now I am inspired to help my small homeschool community in the same way as ILA.

We have been a part of ILA for 8 years and it has been such a blessing to our family. The teachers are top notch experts, creative, and caring. I have elementary and middle school students and they have wonderful friends at ILA. The administration works to create an environment where all are welcome and kids are encouraged to be curious, life-long learners and contributors to society. We are grateful to have found this community and look forward to sticking with it through high school.

My whole family loves it!!!

This first thing to understand about Independent Learning Academy is that it is not a typical school environment. It is a faith filled, God seeking, people loving, accelerated learning environment that holds every person accountable for their actions and trains students to be a world changer.

We have 3 children who have attended for the past 10 years that are now in high school and plan to all graduate from the academy. Its been the best place for them to thrive while learning and interacting with peers of all ages.

ILA is a hidden gem that shouldn’t be hidden! There are so many classes - both core and electives - to choose from. Between that and the awesome teachers and kind students, this is a school that allows kids to truly discover their God-given talents. We love that our daughter spends her time learning what she is interested in instead of being told what she needs to learn. ILA “keeps it real” - the vibe is all about giving the students what they need now so they can change the world in the future! I wish we would have discovered it sooner.

Our daughter Marina Cole loves this school! She’s in 6th grade going into 7th in the fall and is homeschooled except for ILA where she’s in school with kids 9:40-5:00 on Tuesdays. We are going to do 3 days in the Fall because she loves it so much! She was bullied at a Christian school and worse at the public school we tried in 4th grade till COVID hit. She had an IEP but no longer qualifies due to her excelling now with ILA and homeschooling with a tutor that we pay for with her charter funds from cabrillo point academy. I’m so thankful for the teachers at ILA who understand kids are not adults and don’t expect them to act like adults and be as mature as adults when they are just kids. The teachers at ILA truly love kids and are experienced teachers with the Love of Jesus in them! They are patient and give grace and understanding to the kids which was not our experience in a far more expensive Christian school who although we had some good teachers, hired individuals that didn’t even want to teach kids but just filled the spot for the partial day. And who did not exhibit the love of Jesus like ILA’s teachers. We are planning to every year increase the time marina spends at ILA until high school where she will be attending full-time. Now she is all caught up and is not behind and motivated to learn and loves being at school at ILA on the day she goes. Marina no longer qualifies for her IEP and it has been cancelled. Marina is so confident now that she acts in front of the whole school for her drama class productions without any hesitation! An absolute miracle! We highly recommend ILA to any student who struggles to fit in other schools even if they are “so called” Christian.

ILA is a special homeschooling community with high standards for teaching and character development. Every kid is free to be themselves and get an excellent education at the same time. I love how this community comes together in times of need and crisis. So grateful for all of the parent volunteers!!
