We love Nellys! Our oldest daughter went here from 2 until elementary school and our other child started when he was around 9 months. I feel so lucky that we found this school. The teachers are wonderful and attentive. The school feels like a little community and everyone knows each other. Both of my kids are always so excited to go to school and love saying hi to all the teachers. The teachers and the director are dedicated to the children and they have always been so helpful with advice on how to help our kids navigate things they need help in and help facilitate their love for certain interests. I've been so impressed with everything both of my kids have learned while being in their care.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Nelly's. Maestro Lupe and Maestro Elizabeth have been phenomenal in their care and dedication to our son. Their warmth, patience, and enthusiasm make every day a joy for him. Our son has never been happier. The teachers nurturing approach have significantly contributed to his development and happiness. Nelly's has been such a wonderful environment for my daughter to learn and grow. It is on the smaller side so it feels like a community. When I started looking for daycares I was recommended to check the county's website for daycares and their citations and to make sure they were licensed. I looked at most of the daycares that are near my home and Nelly's was (and still is) one of the only places that has zero citations. That checked the first box for me and I wanted to learn more.

Nelly's is a Spanish immersion school which is AMAZING. My daughter has been going to Nelly's since she was 10 months old and now at 3 she can understand Spanish entirely and is almost able to speak in full sentences.

I am so impressed with the communication between staff members and parents and also the communication amongst staff members. All staff members know your children regardless of what class they are in and all of them care for them as if they are their own. The director Greislye also has her eyes on everything somehow and is very on top of everything. There's nothing she isn't aware of and is proactive in reaching out to discuss your child's individual needs.

I have learned so much from the teachers about how to encourage my child during their tantrum phases and how to approach things like potty training. I didn't have to potty train my daughter because her amazing teacher did it at school so when it was time for us to implement at home, she was already going to the bathroom.

I love that the school provides 3 meals a day + snacks. I haven't met a teacher I didn't love. And I love that I feel safe bringing my daughter to school every day. My second daughter is starting in the infant class soon and this time around I'm actually excited for her because I know what to expect and how great it's going to be for her. Anyone willing to take care of a bunch of rowdy toddlers and babies all day is a hero but especially the teachers at Nelly's.

Nelly’s is a warm, caring and safe space for children to grow and begin their school journey. It is run by the most amazing group of sisters (it’s a family-owned business) who not only care immensely for all the children in their care, but who also run their business professionally and with the utmost attention to safety. We are so lucky to have found Nelly’s!

My daughter started at Nelly’s when she was 2 years old in a temporary spot, which went permanent quickly (I was advised this is a likely situation so we went for it and it worked out.) She was struggling with attachment issues and needed socialization with other kids. She very quickly adapted and started looking forward to school. Often when it was time to pick her up, she asked to stay with her friends on the playground. That is the best feeling for any mom/parent!

Their security system provides a great sense of safety (individual security codes to enter, sign in and sign out codes with notifications to parents, security cameras, etc.) and the classrooms are kept very clean. The staff are sweet, kind, great teachers, and care about the well-being of the children in their care.

When Covid-19 hit, I was amazed to see how the staff at Nelly’s adapted. They kept their staff employed, offered regular zoom classes for all levels of preschool, and provided regular updates with detailed information and plans for reopening with safety measures in place. I am so impressed with how Nelly’s is managed, I wish both my kids could attend Nelly’s throughout their entire school journey!

Both of my kids (now 9 and 5) went to Nelly’s preschool since they were 2 years old. My 5yr old just graduated. Since the very first day, we all loved the school and I can honestly say this is the best preschool ever. When choosing a preschool, the most import thing for me was to leave my kids with someone that cares for them as much as I do. I always felt my kids were completely safe and loved at Nelly’s. The teachers and staff are so caring and always interested in helping the kids develop to their highest potential. Truly one in a million kind of teachers. Always making sure kids are being heard and making school so enjoyable for them. At end of every school day, my kids never wanted to leave. Another of my favorite things about the school is their Spanish immersion program. It is truly fantastic. The kids are constantly exposed to the language and I can say my kids are 100% bilingual thanks to Nelly’s. That is a priceless gift they will carry with them forever.
I cannot say enough great things about the school and the teachers. Greislye, Ludmila and Mai (School director and Co-owners) are so wonderful! They very professional and at the same time loving and caring; they always go the extra mile to keep kids and their families. They are all very kind, dedicated and compassionate.
We love ALL the teachers. Maestra Lupe, Maestra Vianney, Maestra Rosa, Maestra Karen, Rita, Minerva, Raquel, I have to name them all. They are very professional and always full of love. Always so patient, reliable, and caring. Many of the teachers have been there for many years and you can easily tell how much they love their job. You can easily tell how good they are at what they do. They helped me to potty train both of my kids. With their help and guidance, that process was much easier and faster.
They school is always in the process of improving everything they do. I enjoyed their electronic sign in and sign out. I also love that they use the Class Dojo app to keep parents posted about everything going on at the school. I really enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of the kids during their classes and various activities.
The food service at the school is amazing. All meals are homemade with the best ingredients, nutritious and delicious according to my children. My kids loved the food at the school so much that they still asked me to cook the exact same meals they used to have at Nelly’s (I had to ask for their exact recipes many times ?).
I am forever grateful to Nelly’s school for creating such a wonderful, safe, loving and nurturing environment for my kids. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to a part of the Nelly’s family and will continue to refer all our friends there because I honestly believe there is no better preschool.

Our son attended Nelly's from the time we moved to the Bay Area from LA when he was around 2 until he started kindergarten. This preschool is run by a staff of warm and caring maestras (teachers) that we can't say enough about. Our son immediately bonded with the whole staff and really thrived in his years there. The family that runs the preschool puts the children's social and emotional development above all else. They run a really tight ship, the facility is spotless, the cooking is great, we never once felt like we needed to report something amiss inside the facility. My son just finished his first year of kindergarten at a local public school, and the difference between the two is staggering (unfortunately). Our son's entire first year of kindergarten was spent repeating what he did at Nelly's the year before. Also, being a Spanish immersion school is a huge plus... even if you do not speak Spanish, exposing your child to another language and culture is the best gift you can give them.

Nelly's is a one of a kind gem that you will not be able to find anywhere else. My two children are both students and my son has been enrolled for close to four years. This school was amazing pre-covid with holiday parties, petting zoos and teacher's that truly love your children. Post covid they have proved that not only are they extremely able to overcome adversity but they do so carefully and with the best, positive attitude. While the school was closed, they had numerous videos, group classes, provided detailed weekly packets of crafts and worksheets- they even made boxes filled with the craft materials that correlated with the lessons. They carefully, just recently opened and are going above and beyond to ensure our children and their staff's safety. We check our kids in outside, take temperatures, wear masks, sanitize our hands etc. The kids have inside shoes and outside shoes. With all the extra rules, I was concerned that my son would be confused but he said school was so fun and he couldn't wait to go back. And I know the reason why is the staff and their big, positive, warm hearts. Thank you Nelly's for truly caring.
