Where do I begin? Good luck if you get anyone to answer the phone. I tried calling many times and finally had to hang up after a hour each time. Emails go unanswered. Poor customer service when you do get someone. They put you on hold and go to lunch. Then you have to speak to a second person that tells you they will call you back… Unacceptable excuse that they have had technical difficulties. They have a 2.7 rating for a reason. I had a background check in early May, I had to call after 2 1/2 months to see what was taking so long. That very day my background check was cleared. I paid to have my certificate renewed in early May, I finally got up with someone yesterday about it. The only positive take away is that this happened in the summer before school started.

The FAFSA process is the most terrible excuse for a process that I have ever seen. Complete and total lack of effort to be of any assistance to anyone who may want to apply for student aid. You cannot contact anyone. You can only apply online. The website is a complete broken mess. I can and have gained access to work inside of secured access government nuclear facilities. The federal government has my telemetry on file. However, I am apparently not who I say I am and therefore I cannot complete the forms online to be processed. To think that this process was developed and approved by the Board of Education is absolutely appalling. Way to be an example of higher learning. I have been dealing with these issues for seven years between both of my children and it is still broken.

Education is a privilege to be apart of. When we have departments within a system to help enforce education despite color, race or creed, it remains as it is a heavy responsibility to instill the best knowledge into our children. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. However don't take my word for it check it out for yourselves.✍️

Two stars because the new website is terrible and very difficult to navigate. I just need to see the list of PD courses coming up for spring semester 2022 (if they have one) and I can't even find it. One would think it would be under the professional development link, but it's not. Please get someone to fix this or design the website to be more user friendly.

Our teacher shortage may be in part due to potential teachers and current teachers not being able to get in touch with an actual person at the ADOE.?
(Over 2 hours on hold this morning and over an hour yesterday…and still holding?)

Look at the abuse of young people going on in Alabama schools. In the backward (Talladega) public school district they teach violence where adult bullies like the Assistant principal are permitted (and encouraged) to pick up pieces of wooden boards and beat teen age students with them during corporal punishment rituals. Students are beaten for trivial things like writing the name of the new President on the blackboard. We are not talking about a third world country but here in rural 21st century America Why doesn't the Alabama dept of education tell these backward barnyard barbarians to STOP their violence in our public
schools.
