Did my ASA101 and 103 here over the course of five days. My instructor Alex Van Name was great—rigorous and safe but also down to have a laugh. The boats themselves were modern and well taken care of. The office was clean, professional and well organized. Will definitely be coming back for 104 and beyond.

I completed the 104/114 with Greg over the weekend. The boat was in immaculate condition. Greg is a highly experienced captain and Navy veteran with a wealth of knowledge that spans decades. He shared his experiences and applied them to our learning environment. He displayed excellent seamanship, humor, and patience, especially when dealing with a crew that, although motivated, offered unique challenges. The trip consisted of "a lotta ins, a lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous” and I highly recommend Blue Pacific.

Took my ASA 101 course with Curtis as my instructor and it was incredible! He was an excellent, knowledgeable instructor and great all-around guy, and the boat (Merit 25) we used for the course was fantastic.

I highly recommend Blue Pacific for taking ASA courses or chartering your own boat! Their fleet is amazing.

Already looking forward to coming back for the rest of my ASA certifications including a trip to Catalina Island!

My wife and I took ASA 101 this past weekend and couldn’t say more positive things about how amazing the experience was. Our instructor Curtis was the most patient and informative teacher, he made the initially overwhelming feeling experience feel manageable and enjoyable. Within the weekend he built our confidence and we were sailing in no time! 10/10, would highly recommend.

I was very fortunate to be recommended Blue Pacific Yachting by my dear friend Drew from Utah. My instructor Jen is wonderful at making us feeling comfortable and learning at the same time. Classes are easy going and fun, today I’m going for my first complementary confident sail and I’m excited to see how well I can perform after the full 5 days lesson passing my 101 and 103 certificate.
If you are not sure yet, don’t hesitate we live only once and you will not regret !
Florian!

I did the packaged 101/103 sailing course and couldn’t be happier. Jen was the instructor, and I was impressed by how well she handled our group, which had different levels of experience. She’s very patient and never lost her cool, even in quite iffy situations. She’ll make sure you are enough prepared to pass the tests. The office staff is also super friendly. Highly recommend. PS: Do read the books beforehand to not make it unnecessarily difficult for yourself.

After not sailing in Los Angeles in years the extended checkout with Captain Sebastian was well worth it. Fantastic for refurbishing sailing skills in Los Angeles.

I just took the three-day ASA 104 (bareboat) and ASA 114 (catamaran) course with instructor Greg. Organized as a trip from Marina del Rey to the isthmus of Catalina and back. The boat was gorgeous and in absolutely pristine condition.

Greg did a great job balancing direct instruction with standing back to provide hands-on experience. His maneuvering drills among mooring buoys were particularly helpful. Maybe not the stuff of sailing fantasies, but getting your boat safely to its mooring without incident is in fact the foundation of a good sailing trip.

These were not my home waters (I'm out of SF Bay), which was kind of the point. My classmates/shipmates were also from various places around the country. They were all pleasant and capable, which made it engaging to learn from each other.

If you're serious about learning how to skipper well, and having fun while along the way, Blue Pacific is a good choice.
