Best hidden gem in LA!!! Food is DELICIOUS. Every roll I’ve had has been amazing. I think the lobster mac n cheese may have changed my life Also the coconut shrimp are bomb. Service is so friendly and it’s obvious the staff is always working hard. The tiki vibes are next level….so cool.

We recently held a surprise party for my friend at Kahuna Tiki Tu and the service was outstanding! The manager called to confirm our party room booking in advance and made sure that all of our group’s needs were met. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating - esp. considering that we had 12 people with multiple checks. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the fun drinks. It was such a cool atmosphere and my friend was very impressed. They even let us bring in our own cake and some additional party decorations to make the occasion special (see photos 4 & 5.) Pricing was definitely reasonable and the venue has parking. Can’t say enough nice things about the experience and will definitely be coming back!

Happy I finally stopped in. I felt like I was at Disneyland because of the cinematic-grade decor and experience.

We walked in during live Tahitian dances. It was delightful.

Food and drinks were tasty with large selections. I was hesitant to try because I presumed the food and drinks would be overly sweet—I was wrong. I loved the fresh and high-quality ingredients in the tiki drinks. The food was also fresh.

Customer service was exceptional. Megan was very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the detail and dedication of this professionally managed family-owned restaurant.

I will definitely comeback and bring friends.

The Bar:

I like this place, definitely a spot I would come back to again and again. The music on a Friday at 5pm is reminiscent of '70s rock... Tom Petty, Bob Seger, etc.

Their happy hour is Monday through Thursday 4p-6p. Lots of nice food and drink specials. I'll be back soon and post up more photos of that fun experience.

The atmosphere in here is very tropical, hawaiian, you get the idea. It's like Pirates meets a Shanghai saloon, who had a Fiji lovechild by way of Tahiti. Maybe? Lol.

It's a great date spot if you want to remain anonymous, and you know what I'm talking about! Sshhhh, I won't tell if you won't.

The Staff: What I really love the most is the service! The waitresses and bartenders in here are definitely top-notch. Haven't had a chance to explore the sushi bar yet, but I will be back.

This is a great spot if you're feeling nostalgic, and want to reminisce about the 70s and '80s Tiki bars. I would definitely recommend this place to the locals, A tourist, a rolling pack of attorneys riding their choppers, or even just a spot to come in and have a appetizer and a drink on a Tuesday.

We have been coming here for birthday celebrations since they opened but tonight was not good. We were the only table in the entire place and a party came in with about 8 people in the back room and our waitresses completely disappeared. Our meal took 2.5 hours because we had to wait so long to get everything. I also said in the reservation and when we got there that it was my husband's birthday because my daughter loves the birthday Twinkie they give out and she was so excited and the waitress totally forgot and never returned to our table. Kind of ruined my daughters birthday celebration for him. Guess we will find another birthday celebration since the party was more important than the two tables you had in the restaurant.

Disappointed. I’ve been wanting to try this place and met up with friends. The drinks were brought out 1 at a time! The waitress said the bar was “busy” but there was no one else in the restaurant! I think they were having staffing problems. We had tempura veggies, fruit bowl and deep fried ice cream. The veggies and deep fried ice cream were terrible. It seems that the fryer was not hot enough. The veggies were oily and unflavored. The deep fried ice cream was doughy and chewy on the outside and the ice cream was low quality. The fruit bowl was not fresh. It mainly is a drink place and the drinks were good we mostly got classic tiki drinks - pina colada, rum runner etc. The decor and atmosphere is true tiki but the place is huge so not sure if they will make it if they don’t up the food quality and service. It was Sat night and the place was empty. I don’t think I will try again - it was pricey.

We were pleasantly greeted and seated right away. The service was prompt. They have a fun list of Polynesian cocktails I want to explore more. My husband and I each tried something different and liked it. I had the Kahlua pork and it was very tasty. My husband had a dish of taro chip sashimi nachos which he enjoyed. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty. The decor was fun. We will be back.

My girlfriend and I made reservations as we live 45 minutes away or so. When we arrived, we were not greeted for the next 5-10 minutes as we waited by the reception desk.

We eventually got seated in the bar area and waited another 5-10 minutes before someone came around and took our order. We took this opportunity to order our food as well.

It took quite a while for the food to come out, but it was pretty tasty. We ordered a lot of sushi and were waiting on 2 specialty rolls. After looking at the clock and seeing it has almost been 2 hours since arriving, we asked to cancel the remaining order so we could just leave.

We were assured that our food was being prepared "right now" (it was not. Not until we brought it up to our server and didn't want it anymore)

We eventually had to ask to revise our bill, paid, and left with one of the sushi rolls to-go.

In short: tasty drinks, tropical theming, and a big menu do not make up for the extensive wait and lack of service experienced. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but i expected more on a Friday night out to any restaurant.
