I want to share our deeply troubling experience with Refuge Christian Preschool to warn other parents who may be considering this place for their children. What we went through was nothing short of a nightmare, and it is important that others are aware of what really happens behind the facade of this so-called church setting.
Our 4-year-old daughter was mistreated and subjected to an environment that no child should ever have to endure. Instead of the nurturing, caring atmosphere we expected (and did initially for years when Rhonda Conte was managing), it was met with disregard and neglect. When I raised valid concerns about the care she was receiving, our entire family was mistreated and ostracized.
When I tried to address these issues with the preschool director, instead of being heard, I was bullied and dismissed. They never took the time to look at our side of the situation. The worst part was when I brought my concerns to the pastor, hoping for a fair and compassionate response. Instead, I was met with more hostility and bullying, as if the goal was to silence me rather than address the real issues.
Adding insult to injury, I was lied to about being refunded for the tuition after they refused to allow my daughter to attend. Despite assurances that we would receive our money back, they ultimately ripped us off, denying the refund and closing the matter without any consideration of the emotional distress they caused. This place operates more like an evil cult than a Christian institution. The way they handled everything—especially their treatment of our daughter and our family—was completely unprofessional, dishonest, and outright cruel. They refused to acknowledge our concerns, and their behavior is far from what one would expect from a place that claims to be a safe and loving environment for children.
I strongly urge any parent considering Refuge Christian Preschool to think twice before entrusting their child to this place. What is supposed to be a church setting is anything but that. My family and I went through terrible emotional stress, and I would never want another family to experience what we did.
Please, for the safety and well-being of your child, do not take them here.

Refuge Christian is truly a blessing. I would definitely give them the highest rating. My two daughters absolutely love the teachers and the school. They come home from preschool and teach me words in Spanish and Sign language. In the last year of them going to school it has been a leap in how much they have learned. The events that the school puts together are stunning. The love and caring that everyone shows here is heartwarming. Thank you Refuge and the Refuge Teachers. You are doing God’s work and bringing love and happiness to countless lives.

Our son attended Refuge from age 2. He learned a lot from the preschool program. His vocabulary and language blossomed well. The team does a lot of hands-on activities and fun tasks for learning. Our son loves to go to school. We appreciate the Refuge team. We recommend the school 100%.

Amazing school. My daughter looks forward to attending school every day and even wants to attend on the weekend. I highly recommend Refuge Christian Preschool to everyone. You won't be disappointed. The staff is all awesome and very caring.

Both of my sons have attended/attend refuge, and once my daughter is old enough, she will as well. Lori and staff are absolutely incredible and really care about the kids. They are very communicative about everything going on at school to keep parents in the loop. My kids always look forward to going to school and seeing their friends. The school also keeps the year packed with fun curriculum, activities, and holiday parties. Highly recommend!

1 star, we had the same experiences right below this one, picked up child a few times with a super dirty pull up, boogers all over face. Saw others with boogers down close to their lips...also, ..one day it took us 20 min to leave the school wiping everything. Too many children as well it seams very short staffed. Sometimes they had some teenage girls helping?
Very poor communication with parents. If your child is too active or just super hyper most likely they will eventually throw you hints they don't want it there anymore instead of collaborating with the situation. Some of the things they do here specially for the younger kids is too advanced. I noticed many kids do not really pay attention, get distracted and are not interested.
About 3 teachers are very loving and compassionate! but some of them they don't even great the parents, at pick up times, teacher seamed too overwhelmed. With all the kids and not enough help. They are sitting down Most of the time when they are at the playground.

I went to pick up my friend's son, and his time teacher Lori was Courtney were very rude to him and the kids, I saw this with my very own eyes... His diaper was full of poop and urine. I was so unhappy with the environment, and especially the teacher and aides.... This place doesn't deserve not even one star.
