New upgrades are excellent. New private study rooms are slightly smaller than the old ones, but if they're too small (tables have 4 chairs), there are new larger meeting rooms.

Beautiful space The gallery was gorgeous and the kids and teen area was a nice touch. I got the pleasure of a photo opp with my favorite literacy advocate.

I live in Julian and this Library is like the hub of our town. We have concerts here, there are meeting rooms that you can use, you can request anything from all the other branches and it comes in and is put on the shelf for you to pick up and being a small town everybody knows everybody’s name. I can say that I use the library at least once or twice a week and it’s not just for checking out books or movies either. It’s almost like your favorite coffee shop-without the coffee. If you’re just passing through, “Steve Says” that you should check it out, there’s always arts on display or a local author being featured like our famous, Don Winslow.

The Julian Public Library is a special gem! The librarians here provide services that create a feeling of belonging to this unique community. I look forward to finding something new with each visit. I am surprised to find the latest recommendations on the shelf and I was able to research a recent trip with many options to choose from. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have various community events here and do used book/dvd sales. They also help residents with littles 5yo and younger sign up for Dollys Imagination Library. Just a great resource for Julian that I recommend others visit.
