Please read, do not take your child here, not only they trick you when you sign up with fake promises, but also they don't help your kid with their homework and they only "teach" whatever they want to do that day. Then your kids come home overwhelmed because they couldn't do their work, come home late and still have a lot to do homework when they get home and you have to teach them how to do it yourself, what's the point paying these guys and take your kid there. They promise your kids rewards "gift cards" when they accumulate points, and when the kids ask for it they say they're out and never give kids their rewards. Don't offer or promise things to kids if you're not going to honor your promise!
You're better off hiring a private tutor, or teach them yourself, unfortunately I work 2 jobs and keep busy, not only is cheaper but they will actually help your kids with homework and not confuse them with things they're currently not learning in school. Don't waste your money and time,

PLEASE READ!!!
Please be cautious when dealing with this location. They appear to push customers to finance through their own company, Slice. I am currently in a dispute with them, along with my attorney, because I explicitly requested to use my credit card for financing from the start. Despite this, they attempted to push their financing option, took my credit card information, and falsely claimed the transaction didn’t go through. Now, I’m having to dispute the charge with my credit card company because it turns out the payment was accepted. Now they can simply text me that I should resolve it with my cc and it may take months!!!

Additionally, my daughter has overheard inappropriate conversations from tutors, including remarks like, “Oh my, if my sheets could talk.” Such conversations are entirely inappropriate to have around children. For this reason, I’d rather lose the $9,000 I’ve already spent than subject my child to that environment again.
Now I have to waits months to get this resolved.

My daughter, has been attending Sylvan learning Center for seven months now. As a parent, I can honestly tell you it has been the best decision, I've made by choosing them. Not only for her, but for myself as well. Carlos, made me feel very comfortable since the first time we spoke on the phone. He is professional, super attentive, kind, and caring. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He really listens to you, makes sure to answer all your questions, and concerns, explains things throughly. I also had the opportunity to meet with Mrs. White, after my daughter's assessment test. It was a pleasant experience as well. She was very kind, and explained the whole process. The teacher's are highly educated, very patient, and sweet with all the students. My daughter has gained confidence. I'm proud to say her grades have improved. It's all thanks to Carlos, Mrs. White, and staff. I couldn't be happier! They strive to provide the best possible care, and education to each one of their students. I highly recommend Sylvan to all the parents out there looking for a better future for their children.

Adrienne, Carlos, the tutors and staff are genuine and supportive! They treat each child as their own and the tutors take them under their wings and provide them with indefinite knowledge and support. My child is very happy. I was not able to get through my son as much as I tried tutoring him and Sylvan makes it so easy for him.

Nathan's Play Day

We were looking for a Spanish tutoring program that offered my son that one to one learning experience and we found Sylvan Learning Center. Ms. Adriene and Mr. Carlos are the administrators running this program. My son just started a little over a month ago and we have already sat down twice to review his progress. We are already seeing great progress on my son's reading, writing and speaking Spanish. Staff is very professional and administrators always available to answer any concerns.

My 8-year-old sister has been attending sessions at Sylvan for several weeks now and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They truly care about the success of their students and go above and beyond to ensure that they understand the material. My sister has shown significant improvement in her math skills since starting. Mrs. Adriene was so kind and reassuring with my sister's struggles. Carlos was nothing but informative and professional when we enrolled. Ms. Kali is one of my sister's teachers and my sister enjoys being tutored by her. She is the most patient teacher.
The atmosphere is also very welcoming and friendly. They create a safe and positive space for students. My sister always looks forward to her tutoring sessions and comes home feeling confident and excited about what she's learned.
Overall, I highly recommend this location. They offer exceptional instruction and support.

My son who was in 2nd did not know how to read. I tried working with him myself but nothing was working. I decided to look for tutoring services and I’m glad I stumbled upon the Sylvan Learning Center. I called and initially spoke to Carlos, he extremely informative. He listened to my concerns and gave me reassurance on helping my child. Walking into the center I felt at home, and best of all my child did too! After his assessment he asked “when are we coming back”. Not only was I looking for a place that I felt comfortable at but that my child did too. Sylvan checked all the boxes. I met with Mrs.Adriene as well, you can tell she truly cares about our children succeeding. Overall I give Sylvan in Downey a 10/10.

They ghosted me. I called them about SAT prep and they said they email me back with more info. I followed up again and they never contacted me.
