This is our second year at Bluedoor, as a high school student.

The Good: great folks, plenty of core a-g classes, teachers are engaged and approachable.

Being that Bluedoor is not a public school, there is little time wasted during the school day in terms of kids not lining up, disruptions in class, etc. If there is a student who breaks the rules (which are simple: Respect Others, Respect Yourself, and Respect the School), don't expect the wishy washy public school "do nothing" approach. ? Follow those simple rules or face consequences. I appreciate that a lot since my son dealt with principals who protected the bullies.

We have pizza days, school dances, and high school get-togethers over the summer. It really creates a cohesive school environment.

The Bad: a lot is online, and most assignments are turned in online... so if you dont have high end computer stuff and your kid is computer-challenged like mine, the time it takes to scan, upload, etc sometimes takes more time than the homework. Full disclosure, I hate online learning. On the other hand, teachers are VERY understanding of computer glitches. And note, this is for high school; I cant comment on k-8 classes.

Although Bluedoor has a-g classes, for the high-achieving, college-bound kid, classes right now go no further than Alg 2 and Chemistry/Anatomy/Physiology. I am hoping they add Pre-Calc, Calc and Physics with a lab to appeal to those kids (and parents!).

Overall, Bluedoor is an excellent choice for any student in the Auburn area.
